Add to Cart... (2025 - Ongoing)
Giving up internet pornography and regular use of infinite-scroll-based social media led me to develop new compulsive "habits" largely centered around online shopping. I know now that having a favorite brand does not have to mean I need to check every item on its sale page before bed, nightly. Eventually, I stopped telling myself that this behavior was somehow saving me money. I had to. I no longer feel the mental pressure to search a certain site every time my mind drifts, but I'm reminded of the images I saw there every time I get dressed. I think I always wanted to be more like the men I saw in these images, even though I actually knew nothing about them.
Since 2025 I have used self-image-making, experimental or process-mixed techniques, and even web-based exhibition to examine my relationship to online shopping and the site I just couldn't get enough of. Explore these series below.
